Updates:
May 15th: Thanks to you we delivered 500 KN95 masks to Eisner Health, which is a federally qualified health center with nine clinics throughout greater Los Angeles committed to providing access to quality healthcare to people of all incomes.
May 7th: Because of your generosity, we were able to deliver 100 masks and other vital supplies to the frontline healthcare workers at Centinela Hospital.
April 28th: Your contributions to this campaign have enabled us to donate 500 masks, 400 shoe covers and 200 pairs of gloves to protect frontline staff at L.A. area non-profit The People Concern as they work tirelessly to serve hundreds of people living in homeless shelters and encampments throughout greater LA.
April 24th: This week we donated 300 masks to the City of Paramount and another 200 masks to a Greater LA Hospital! We were also able to host the Los Angeles County Medical Association at our Torrance ReStore to distribute their PPE to 120 medical practices from the LA area! Thank you for your continued support!
April 10th: Thanks to you, we are on our way! On April 7th and 8th we delivered 1,200 masks and other PPE to Long Beach Fire Department and another 1,200 masks and other PPE delivered to the Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services team for use at area hospitals.
But there are many more in desperate need of protective gear!
In L.A. County, thousands of front line medical and emergency service workers are working long hours and risking their lives to make sure we stay healthy and safe. You have seen their pleas and Habitat LA is responding to their needs. Together we can do our part to get them the protective supplies that they need.
One of our trusted suppliers had a limited excess of hospital grade face masks and other PPE. We have the opportunity to purchase 10,000 masks which we will immediately distribute to front line medical and emergency service workers throughout greater Los Angeles.
Many of the community hospitals and clinics in low-income areas are far less equipped to handle the surge of sick patients. To learn more about the economic disparities related to COVID-19, please click here to see the April 1st New York Times article.
To ensure we help where it is needed most, we are working closely with two groups of health care professionals -- the Los Angeles County Medical Association (www.lacmanet.org) and H.O.P.P.E. United (www.hoppeca.com)
COVID-19 is highly contagious and is expected to surge in Los Angeles around mid-April. These masks play a critical role in reducing the spread of this life-threatening virus. It is imperative that we all do what we can, as soon as we can, to flatten the curve.
The math is simple:
$4 buys one mask, $40 buys ten masks, $400 buys 100 masks.
Your donation will help Habitat LA pay for the masks, and together we can protect our heroes during this pandemic. Every mask can save multiple lives!
Please make a tax-deductible contribution today in any amount you can, or start a team to help spread the word.
Together we can keep our communities safe and strong!
Thank you!
