Due to the small number of 5k run registrations, we will NOT be conducting the 5k run this year at Calf Pasture Beach. The timeline for the event has been modified to reflect this change.
We look forward to welcoming all those joining us on September 30th to walk and/or gather in support of the Whittingham Cancer Center (WCC) as we recognize the oncologists of the Whittingham Cancer Center for all of the care – and caring – they provide to their patients.

We're celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Whittingham Cancer Center Walk — and paying tribute to our dedicated participants, who have raised over $3 million since its inception! The critical funds raised through this event support patient programs and services provided at Norwalk Hospital's C. Anthony and Jean Whittingham Cancer Center (WCC).
We all know someone whose life has been changed forever by cancer. The WCC sees thousands of patients every year — including, perhaps, a member of your family, a neighbor or a co-worker. We can ensure the availability of next-generation cancer care treatment and services in the communities we call home. With your support today, we can:
- Add a full-time nurse navigator to our breast surgery team, expanding our existing navigator program across other cancers
- Move our integrative medicine program to a new outpatient setting (in Norwalk)
- Expand Transportation Assistance to help patients get to medical appointments
This year we honor the outstanding oncologists at the WCC, whose tireless efforts to provide compassionate care for our community energize and inspire. They are our SUPERHEROES! Salute your own doctor – or any of the superheroes in your life – through this year's event.
Thank you to all the walkers, survivors, family, friends, caregivers and students who will join us on September 30 to celebrate the WCC.
Joanne often recalls how the compassion, care and attention of the staff at the Whittingham Cancer Center helped her get through the highs and lows of her treatment. In particular, she remembers the words and actions of Maria, whose own story inspired Joanne to keep going.
