Good afternoon riders, I’m Swine Street Express! I was designed by artist Carol Milne for the 2001 Pigs on Parade celebration, made to look like one of Seattle Metro’s wonderful articulated buses. As you can see, not only am I wearing the timeless teal and safety yellow made famous by Seattle Metro, but I have all the accessories a pig could want: a cast glass head as a driver, headlights in my snout, windows, windshield wipers, poles, rear view mirrors – the works!

For the past 20 years, I have been an imporkant member of the Metro team, living down in Tukwila at one of their premier maintenance shops.

Fun Fact: To make my “articulated bus” shape, I was constructed by being first sawed in half, then reaffixed at a thirty-degree with a steel pipe in between. Once assembled, my route number and destination were added.

I am moved by the Pike Place Market Foundation’s mission of nurturing the Market community through a robust map of direct service programs and resource navigation, all while welcoming visitors and tourists right in the heart of Seattle.

Vote for me for most moving pig in the pageant!
