At the American Heart Association, we’re working to make sustainable change in every community. Your investment ensures that we’re able to create a world of longer, healthier lives for everyone.
Heart disease and stroke remain our number one and five killers nationally. We’re driving public education to know the signs of a heart attack or stroke, drive for high blood pressure reduction and meet people where they are with healthcare and healthy living solutions.
The projected cost of high blood pressure alone is $220.9 billion by 2035. We’re driving for an 80% controlled rate across our region by 2024 by equipping individuals with blood pressure monitoring education and equipping physicians and clinics with resources and tools.
Health disparities including lack of sidewalks, nutrition insecurity and ongoing economic hardship, abound in rural America. We’re working on rural-specific solutions for rural areas through telehealth education and community impact resources.
Now, more than ever, we need your help. Take action today.
