Ramadan Mubarak! Thank you for joining SAMS Ohio Chapter for Iftar on April 23, 2021 in Cleveland, Ohio.During this month of compassion and giving, we ask you to join SAMS mission to ensure that vulnerable populations have access to the life-saving, dignified medical care they need amid ongoing strife, displacement, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since the conflict in Syria began, more than 500,000 innocent civilians have lost their lives.  Caught in the crosshairs of conflict, at least 12 mllion Syrians have been forcibly displaced in a crisis that has left millions in dire humanitarian need. In the overcrowded displacement camps which often lack clean water and sanitation, individuals face significant health risks, including the risk of water- and food-borne illness and other communicable diseases, including COVID-19. Many Syrians also need ongoing medical care for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, as well as maternal and child health services, and psychosocial and mental health programming.  Patients suffering from trauma, burns, or conflict-related injuries often need ongoing medical care and rehabilitation services.Since 2011, SAMS has been on the frontlines of this crisis, delivering over 20 million medical services and $207 million in humanitarian aid in Syria, neighboring countries and beyond. SAMS medical teams are providing urgently needed medical services, food, fuel and or emergency aid to vulnerable populations in northwest Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Greece and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. In northwest Syria, SAMS brave medical personnel are working tirelessly at 40 facilities, delivering about 160,000 medical services per month free of charge to those in acute need. SAMS is providing a full range of health services,  including  trauma services, primary and reproductive care, cancer treatment, dialysis, physical rehabilitation, mental health programming and much more. We are responding to COVID-19 by providing acute COVID-19 care at 4 specialized centers, training health workers on treatment protocol, infection prevention and control, and promoting community awareness campaigns. We are dispatching mobile medical clinics to IDP camps, training the next generation of healthcare workers and working with partners to provide emergency assistance, through school heating projects, flood mitigation efforts and other vital humanitarian aid. This Ramadan, please help innocent civilians in Syria and beyond receive the dignified, quality health care they urgently need.  Your gift will bring relief to people who have endured unimaginable tragedy.

Whether you donate $5 or $500, your donation will have a lasting impact!  Your donation will help us rush critical medications, medical supplies and care to those in urgent need. Thank you for your continued support!
