This year, Shadhika will support 80 new Shadhika Scholars from 4 different community-led partner organizations in India. Through this Scholarship, young women from some of the most underserved communities of India will receive financial support through their college education, English tutoring, a comprehensive technology package, and will join a dynamic peer support group of Shadhika Scholars and Alum.
What this also means is 80 college scholarships to fund. And we cannot do it alone.
- $10/month funds a strong internet connection so she can access remote learning
- $40/month funds tuition fees for her education
- $375 sends her to the Leaders for Change Summit
- $700 funds a technology package with internet, a laptop, and computer literacy classes
- $1700 per year for 3 years funds a complete Shadhika scholarship

Shadhika believes in a future where each person in India can choose their own path to meaning, purpose, and happiness.
This vision can only be fully realized when a person’s gender identity is seen as an asset in their community and the world at large, and their unique contributions are embraced.
Through global philanthropy and in-country programming, Shadhika believes that education is the most effective vehicle for women and girls* to move out of chronic disenfranchisement and towards self-determination. Shadhika aims to abate gender-based discrimination and violence in the social systems surrounding each person by focusing on three core areas of intervention:
1. Investing in the transformative power inherent in each individual girl
2. Investing in the wisdom and innovation of grassroots leadership to create local solutions
3. Cultivating allyship to address power and resource imbalances locally
Thirty years since its inception, Shadhika’s theory of change has helped spark a groundswell of change in India.
