Support UNO's Ellipsis: A Journal of Art, Ideas, and Literature
Help Us Publish our 50th Issue of Ellipsis: A Journal of Art, Ideas, and Literature!
Since 1972, the student-run publication Ellipsis: A Journal of Arts, Ideas, and Literature has showcased the scholarly and creative work of UNO students, alumni, faculty, and staff. Ellipsis is a platform for the brightest minds on campus to share their literary and scholarly works.
As an entirely student-led initiative, the journal is committed to fostering a vibrant academic community that celebrates creativity, critical thinking, and diverse perspectives. Each issue of Ellipsis features a captivating array of original works, including essays, research papers, poetry, fiction, photography, and artwork. The content spans various disciplines, such as literature, humanities, social sciences, arts, and STEM fields, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of modern knowledge and academia.
Each year, Ellipsis is published in both digital and print forms by students in the Department of Language and Literature.
Rising print costs threaten the future of the publication in physical form. The Ellipsis printing project is pivotal in fostering innovation and empowering our talented students to express their artistic visions through print media.
This year, we need your help to cover the printing costs and other fees so that we can continue this UNO tradition! By supporting this journal, you contribute to the advancement of knowledge, the promotion of diverse voices, and the creation of a thriving academic community. Your support empowers the next generation of scholars, writers, and artists.
Jax Borukhovich, Editor in Chief, shared:
“With Ellipsis, I really hope to create a collection of writing and art that showcases the diverse voices across the UNO campus. I want each piece to mean something to at least one person, to make readers feel heard or seen or related to, or even teach someone something new. I want to share these stories with the world and give new writers or artists on campus a chance to have their voices heard. I want to show what it means to be creating in New Orleans during this time, and give readers an escape from the real world, if only for a moment.”
Ellipsis, named after the typographical mark representing an omission, symbolizes the journal's commitment to exploring the spaces between ideas and disciplines, where innovation and inspiration thrive. We hope you consider supporting our journal and allowing us to keep this mission alive here on campus!
