The Cancer Survivorship Program
WHAT IS THE CANCER SURVIVORSHIP PROGRAM ABOUT?
Though life is always different after experiencing cancer, an important goal for most survivors is resuming life as quickly and fully as possible. The Cancer Survivorship Program at USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center offers survivors the information, tools, and support they need to maximize their physical health, emotional adjustment, and overall well-being. The Program welcomes adult cancer survivors from throughout Southern California and beyond. The Cancer Survivorship Program consists of educational programs, survivorship care plans, and the Survivorship Clinics to assist in rebuilding strength, managing symptoms, adopting healthy living practices for our cancer survivors.
- Educational Programs empower and provide fundamental knowledge to our cancer survivors on how to deal with many long-term side effects of treatment such as: cancer-related fatigue, nutrition, cognitive therapy for memory loss, secondary cancer screening and much more.
- Survivorship Care Plans are one of the most important aids that cancer survivors can have in their toolbox, which are written summaries of cancer treatment and road maps for monitoring and maintaining your health.
- The Survivorship Clinics help cancer survivors further deal with the long-term health consequences of radiation, surgery and chemotherapy treatment and address the needs of our cancer survivors. Cancer Survivors may be seen in Survivorship Clinic anytime following completion of conventional cancer treatment. Survivors still receiving limited hormonal or targeted anti-cancer therapy after conventional cancer treatments may also be seen in Survivorship Clinic.
Your gift ensures that our patients have every resource they need to not just survive cancer, but live their life fully after their treatment. Support cancer survivors by making a gift today.
