United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region
Did you know? Every day our United Way receives calls seeking help for Dutchess and Orange County families, individuals and students facing a financial crisis. Help is needed accessing food, preventing eviction, securing transportation to work, filling prescriptions and other basic needs. With your help, United Way’s Crisis Response can continue to prevent one small crisis becoming a financial catastrophe.
MEET JANE
Every Friday, Jane used to stop by the classroom of a teacher she knew had extra snacks in her closet due to a lack of food at home. Her school's Backpack program, funded by United Way's Crisis Resource Fund, now provides food for the weekend. Your support ensures children like Jane don't go hungry!
MEET JADA
Jada, a non-traditional college student and single mother, faced financial difficulties despite support from family and her internship stipend. United Way's Crisis Resource Fund was able to provide diapers, wipes and clothing for her daughter. Jada is now donating the outgrown clothes.
MEET ADAM & BETH
UWDOR received six requests for car seats for newborn families in January. Adam and Beth, parents of premature baby, Zachary, were unable to afford a car seat due to the unexpected early arrival. Your support of the Crisis Response provides car seats for safe transportation.
