The Unity Campaign for Frederick County
We are passionate about cars and helping those in need. Second Chances Garage seeks to make a difference in Frederick County, Maryland, by offering “second chances” to qualified individuals and families on their journey to independent living. To that end, we receive car donations to make dreams a reality, repair them to meet MD-state inspection standards then award them to qualified, low-income, wage-earning families in Frederick County to provide safe and reliable transportation to work, school, and appointments leading to self-sufficiency and independence. We offer low-cost vehicle repair services to qualified drivers to keep their cars operating safely and reliably.
In 2022, we were recognized by the Maryland Comptroller as meeting our charitable purpose with excellence by being awarded the W. Donald Schaeffer Helping People award. We were recognized by the United Way of Frederick County for excellence in community involvement with a Bravo award. We continue to receive nominations and multiple awards in Best of the Best categories solicited by the Frederick News Post.
