Diversity & Inclusion Program
We help curious, creative, and hardworking graduate students pursue their dreams of making the world a better place – through the science of engineering.
Since our establishment of the Increasing Diversity in Engineering Academics (IDEAS) Program in 1990 and the Women in Engineering Program in 1993, The College of Engineering and Polymer Science has strongly supported graduate students with diverse backgrounds who are eager to learn and change the world, and who are fully aware of their capabilities.
We focus on:
- Recruiting women and other typically underrepresented students into The University of Akron’s College of Engineering and Polymer Science
- Retaining and graduating female and underrepresented undergraduate and graduate students
- Developing and empowering highly qualified and professionally responsible engineers
- Forming strategic partnerships with campus-wide departments, the community, and industry
Sponsorship funds and individual donations will be used to provide scholarships to underrepresented students pursuing engineering graduate degrees at UA.
Thank you for your support!
