Run & Walk for Life 2023
St. Maximilian Church will be hosting our own Satellite Run & Walk for Life at our church campus, 10135 West Road, 77064. It will also be held on Saturday, September 30th. We invite you to walk/run, donate, and share in the fun. You can walk/run any time between 7:30-10:30 am. Bring the family, friends and neighbors! All proceeds benefit the good work at the Houston Coalition for Life.
Here is the schedule of events:
7:30 am - Opening prayer – Route opens to Run/Walk.
Free Breakfast Tacos made by our St Max’s Knights of Columbus
Free St Max T-shirts for all Walkers/Donors.
Free Raffle for a pair of Kendra Scott earrings and 2 children's books written by Alexandra Sizemore of HCL.
Face Painting & Balloons Booth
Pro-Life Theme Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest for Youth (see details below)
8:30am - Liturgy of the Word Prayer Service in Church with Deacon Denny Hayes
9:00am - Music from Concert for Life by Fr David Michael Moses

10:15am - Announce winners of the Pro-Life Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest

Sat, Sep 30th 7:30-10am
Rules and Instructions:
- Prizes will be awarded to top 3 Youth entries (18 and under), First place $50, 2nd $30, and 3rd $20. All ages are welcome to draw.
- Use a Pro-Life theme for your Sidewalk Chalk Drawing. Suggested themes will be provided or you can create your own.
- Signup at Chalk Booth as an individual or group to be part of the contest.
- Each entry will be assigned similar sized ‘designed’ sidewalk area on church grounds.
- When finished, return to booth with completed entry form and remaining chalk.
- Chalk drawing must be completed by 10am to be judged. Winners announced about 10:15am.

St Max Walk for Life
The Toddler Trot
Boston has its Marathon. Kentucky has its Derby. And St Max has The Toddler Trot! However, the Trot is vastly different from any other championship race. This race is for babies, 2 years and under. And this race is not to see who is the fastest, but who is the cutest, most precious, adorable kid in the whole world. Be there for the Walk for Life at St Max on September 30th for the Toddler Trot. Gather at 9:55, race starts at 10am. Bring your cameras. It’s going to be epic!
Who: Any toddler 2 years and under.
What: A race, but not really. It’s only 10 yards long and nobody cares who wins.
Where: St Max – in the event parking lot.
When: 9:55am line-up; 10:00am start.
Why: To celebrate babies. To celebrate life!
How: We line them up and let them Gooooo!

Chris Wuenscher will run the course and offer a $10 gift card to Chick-Fil-A for any youth that can “can beat my time.”
