Thank you for showing your support of our students and being a Bear that Cares.
The Student Emergency Fund ensures that all students in need have the essential items to get them through these challenging times, and it reminds them that they are part of a supportive family of Bears that Care. Knowing that they have a whole community of alumni, faculty, staff, parents and friends that are looking out for them, is very often all that a student needs to stay motivated and keep going.
Right here at Bridgewater, there are students having a real hard time. The global pandemic has impacted them in so many ways.
This is an anxious and isolating period for many of us, and our students are no different. As COVID-19 cases around the country are beginning to spike again, new needs are arising for our students.
- Many students no longer have their part-time jobs, or their hours have been cut and they are struggling with tuition, paying rent, or they don’t have enough money for class materials and books
- More students than ever are uncertain where their next meal will come from. The number of food insecure students has risen from 5% to a staggering 35% since the pandemic began.
- Imagine, also, a student quarantining in a dorm room with no parental support, or with family too far to bring them comfort items.
You can help us meet the urgent needs of our students by making your gift go twice as far!
