The University of Notre Dame Men's Boxing Club, founded by legendary coach Knute Rockne, has been dedicated to supporting the Holy Cross missions in Bangladesh for 94 years. Bangladesh is the size of Wisconsin, but it has a population half the size of America’s. An astounding eighty percent of its inhabitants endure extreme poverty, subsisting on meager earnings of less than two dollars per day. In response to this dire predicament, the Holy Cross Priests have undertaken the noble mission of combatting poverty by providing essential education and healthcare services to the resilient people of Bangladesh.

The Congregation of Holy Cross has schools, churches, rehabilitation centers, and healthcare facilities throughout the country. The missions are a beacon of hope for these people and give them the tools to fight against poverty and injustice. The Congregation of Holy Cross runs some of the most prestigious schools in the country and makes the opportunity for education available to everyone.

The funds raised by the Bengal Bouts have built primary and technical schools as well as health care and drug rehabilitation clinics. They have paid for the education of impoverished high school and college students, providing young men and women with the skills to support their families now and into the future. Every Bengal Bouts tournament is changing both the lives of the boxers in the program and their Bengali friends on the other side of the world.

    Tournament Fundraising:
Last year, our boxers combined their efforts inside and outside of the ring to raise over $197,000 through GiveSmart. This year, we want to go above and beyond. We are seeking your help to reach the next level on GiveSmart and hit $200,000. Your donation will directly impact the lives of thousands of young men and women in Bangladesh by providing access to the health care they need and life-changing educational opportunities through the Holy Cross schools, colleges, and universities.
