Help Local Families Now
All donations made before the end of the day on our 84th birthday on April 23 will be matched dollar for dollar, now up to $6,000 by two very generous donors.
“I have some families that are unable to work, especially due to the pandemic and they are in desperate need of baby supplies, such as diapers, wipes and clothes. I have been able to get all of those items today through United Way’s Day of Sharing.” –Christine Bosco, Dutchess County Healthy Families
Your past support has helped our United Way provide essential items and food to those in need in our community. This past year in partnership with local nonprofits and school districts, we provided assistance to over 83,000 people through our Days of Sharing and our other crisis response work. These programs ensure our neighbors have hygiene items, socks, sneakers, clothing, books, bedding, and other household essentials.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen a huge increase in outreach for assistance. Families who were already struggling to make ends meet have been hit hard by the virus and many others are seeking help for the first time. As the demand continues, we have invested more resources into working with organizations to determine client needs and how to safely distribute essential items several days per week. In addition, as access to food remains one of the most pressing community needs, we have been able to provide some local families with gift cards for groceries.
You have provided crucial help to our neighbors through our Days of Sharing for over 10 years. This year, to celebrate our United Way’s 84th birthday, we hope you will consider a gift to help meet the demand and provide assistance in months ahead.
Year-round and in times of crisis, United Way seeks to provide the most vulnerable members of our community with a hand up. If you or anyone you know needs assistance now or any time during the year, please do not hesitate to call the United Way office at 845-471-1900 or our 24/7 2-1-1 Helpline (Hudson211.org) to find out about available resources in our community.
