Paws of Honor has joined forces with Hurricane’s Heroes to help retired Military and Law Enforcement working K9s across the country receive the veterinary care they deserve! Working K9s perform a variety of occupations alongside their Handlers ensuring our public is safe from threats or danger, along with protecting our country domestically and abroad. They are typically classified as equipment with their medical needs NO longer funded once their service is completed. Often times they have accelerated health issues like hip dysplasia or PTSD as a result of their years in the field. K9 Hurricane served honorably with the Secret Service protecting our nation's primary symbol of freedom and government, The White House. He stood guard alongside his Handler patrolling the grounds ensuring the President's peace of mind running the country. He chased down intruders intending harm and has titanium teeth as a reflection of his service. Paws of Honor is a nonprofit providing continued quality routine and specialized veterinary care to ALL retired Military and Law Enforcement K9s no matter the department, agency, or branch of service at no cost to the Handler who becomes financially responsible for them upon retirement. Through Paws of Honor’s Veterinary Affiliates continued medical care is provided to each retired K9 enrolled in our Veterinary Care Program. Paws of Honor is proud to showcase K9 Hurricane’s brave service and the legacy created through Hurricane’s Heroes that will impact K9s and their Handlers for decades to come by making veterinary funding possible supporting the retired working K9s enrolled in Paws of Honor’s Veterinary Care Program through The Paws of Honor Sponsorship Program. Though K9 Hurricane had a stellar and remarkable career serving this great nation, he too retired without the benefit of continued veterinary care. Together Paws of Honor and Hurricane’s Heroes intend to make a difference by teaming up to make continued veterinary care possible for these most deserving K9s!
