The Charity Walk, founded in 1974 and expanded statewide in 1978, is now Hawai‘i’s largest single-day fundraising event by a non-profit organization. Since its inception, more than $32 million has been raised to support hundreds of local charities throughout the state. Spearheaded by the Hawai’i Lodging & Tourism Association and its non-profit arm the Hawai‘i Hotel Industry Foundation, the Charity Walk is traditionally held every May on Hawai‘i, Kaua‘i, Lana‘i, Maui, Moloka‘i, and O‘ahu. Money raised on an island or county stays there.
As you are aware, the Kauai Charity Walk has been a staple fundraiser on the island for over 40 years and is the lifeblood of many non-profit organizations on the island. While we had to adapt the event to a virtual format last year, we are proud to have raised over $260,000, surpassing our goal of $200,000. The funds supported 46 Kauai’s non-profit organizations, many of which were hard hit by the effects of the pandemic. Mahalo to all sponsors who generously contributed to helping us exceed our goal.
We have increased our target this year to $300,000 and we are humbly seeking your support to help us reach our goal, your donation is 100% tax-deductible.
