Dr. Mary Wanza was a beloved administrator at Coppin State University. In a career that spanned 39 years at the university, Dr. Wanza gave her heart and time to nurture, mentor and guide many students to their path of success. In one of her many roles on campus, Dr. Mary Wanza served as Coppin State's first female athletics director from 2006-08, where both men’s and women’s basketball won a MEAC Tournament during her tenure and the women’s program also advanced to a WNIT.
