Two years ago, my mom was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer.  After thirty rounds of chemotherapy in eleven months, she is doing very well!  The doctors are very pleased with her progress and our family is very grateful for her health!  As a freshman rower at Notre Dame, I have felt the support of our team through the challenges of my mom's journey back to health.  Cancer has changed my family's lives, at first in a terribly negative way.  Now, as mom continues to regain her health, we have all come to realize what is truly important in life.

My mom will continue her doctors appointments for a while as she is being treated with an oral chemotherapy.  While these advancements are quite literally life saving, the Harper Cancer Research Institute's Virtual Race is a tangible way that we can all work towards to a cure. The members of the Women's Rowing Program are training for a cure!

From ND Women's Rowing and my family, thank you for your support.
Go Irish,
Lauren Kelly
