The Osprey Web Cam Project
Nest building and courtship feeding were among some of the details directly observed by students in the classroom. Eventually a variety of students enrolled in summer BIOL courses like BIOL 442, Ecology and BIOL 121 and 122, General Biology I and II observed egg-laying, incubation, hatching, and chick feeding behavior.
To our surprise, the images reached out to more than just students enrolled in BIOL courses. It did more than bring the Osprey into our classrooms. It brought them into our lives.
Recent repairs have all but emptied our account and we need funds to purchase a new camera and hookups and to pay outside contractors for a lift to gain access to the setup.
The Osprey Web Cam Project is a true collaboration including people from Facilities, Welding, IT, and Biology. The 2024 viewing season will be our 16th year of operation and we could not have done any of it or continue to do so without the generous contributions of people just like you. Thank you for your love and support.
