Bbucca(T085) was born on 10/21/2010 in the TSA Puppy Program at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio Texas. She was named after fallen NYFD Fire Marshall Ronald Bucca from the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on 09/11/2001. Bbucca’ s first station was Seattle International Airport where she helped keep the airport safe by screening air cargo, assisted US Secret Service with their missions, along with USCG, CBP and local law enforcement in the Seattle area. Bbucca then finished her service at the Orlando International Airport working at the checkpoint conducting passenger screening in 2019. She is now living a peaceful retirement in Florida soaking up the sun.

Working K9s perform a variety of occupations alongside their Handlers ensuring our public is safe from threats or danger, along with protecting our country domestically and abroad. They are typically classified as equipment with their medical needs NO longer funded once their service is completed. Often times they have accelerated health issues like hip dysplasia or PTSD as a result of their years in the field.

Paws of Honor is a nonprofit providing continued quality routine and specialized veterinary care to ALL retired Military and Law Enforcement K9s no matter the department, agency, or branch of service at no cost to the Handler who becomes financially responsible for them upon retirement. Through Paws of Honor’s Veterinary Affiliates continued medical care is provided to each retired K9 enrolled in our Veterinary Care Program.
