Denali is a fun-loving dog that enjoys food of all kinds and his ball. All his passions revolve around carrying his favorite ball around. Denali had a tough adjustment to retirement. Because he loved riding in the police truck. Now that he’s adjusted he likes taking car rides and running around the yard with his new dog brother Cezar. He loves to play, and he is serious about his pets. He insists on being pet and oftentimes forces his nose under your arm to insist on pets.

Denali is a former U.S Marine Corps dog and did do time overseas for this country. Once he came to us he was already a Veteran, then he started his 2nd career. He and his handler, Michelle, have done details in different parts of the states and he worked at the U.S Capitol, keeping the public safe, sniffing for bombs in buildings, on cars, and around the capitol complex

Denali's favorite snack is anything edible. He doesn’t even think before he gobbles any and everything up. He loves buddy biscuit treats. But really anything edible he can get his paws on. Denali has mass cell tumors removed while he was in service and POH also removed a growth on his leg since he has been under their care.

Paws of Honor has joined forces with Hurricane’s Heroes to help retired Military and Law Enforcement working K9s across the country receive the veterinary care they deserve!

Working K9s perform a variety of occupations alongside their Handlers ensuring our public is safe from threats or danger, along with protecting our country domestically and abroad. They are typically classified as equipment with their medical needs NO longer funded once their service is completed. Often times they have accelerated health issues like hip dysplasia or PTSD as a result of their years in the field.

Paws of Honor is a nonprofit providing continued quality routine and specialized veterinary care to ALL retired Military and Law Enforcement K9s no matter the department, agency, or branch of service at no cost to the Handler who becomes financially responsible for them upon retirement. Through Paws of Honor’s Veterinary Affiliates continued medical care is provided to each retired K9 enrolled in our Veterinary Care Program.
