K9 Edo is retired after several years of service. K9 Edo was able to assist in several large scale narcotic investigations. K9 Edo worked primarily for the Knox County Sheriff's Department, but would assist with other local departments. K9 Edo was a dual purpose service dog, and was trained in narcotics detection, tracking, and article searches. K9 Edo was utilized in transit narcotic trafficking investigation. K9 Edo was purchased through a grant, and was provided to me to utilize as a partner. Vohne Liche Kennels purchased K9 Edo from a Kennel in Europe. K9 Edo was fully trained while at Vohne Liche Kennels. During the course of training, the handler and canine went through an extensive 6 week training process. After certification, we completed a minimum of 16 hours of monthly training, while working 40 plus hours a week. K9 Edo loves playing at home now that he is retired, and enjoys playing with his "Kong" and tennis balls. Edo enjoys playing with his human brothers and sister.

Working K9s perform a variety of occupations alongside their Handlers ensuring our public is safe from threats or danger, along with protecting our country domestically and abroad. They are typically classified as equipment with their medical needs NO longer funded once their service is completed. Often times they have accelerated health issues like hip dysplasia or PTSD as a result of their years in the field.

Paws of Honor is a nonprofit providing continued quality routine and specialized veterinary care to ALL retired Military and Law Enforcement K9s no matter the department, agency, or branch of service at no cost to the Handler who becomes financially responsible for them upon retirement. Through Paws of Honor’s Veterinary Affiliates continued medical care is provided to each retired K9 enrolled in our Veterinary Care Program.
