Canine Edo enlisted with the State Police in 2015. During his career Canine Edo assisted Federal, State and Local law enforcement with nearly 1,000 investigations and the seizure of over $30 million dollars in illegal contraband. Canine Edo was also a Human Tracking Canine and assisted with approximately 85 investigations for missing persons and fleeing suspects. Canine Edo located a missing child, ultimately saving her life.  The Canine Handler and Canine Edo worked together for over 6 years. Canine Edo retired to a loving home with his handler and family.

Working K9s perform a variety of occupations alongside their Handlers ensuring our public is safe from threats or danger, along with protecting our country domestically and abroad. They are typically classified as equipment with their medical needs NO longer funded once their service is completed. Often times they have accelerated health issues like hip dysplasia or PTSD as a result of their years in the field.

Paws of Honor is a nonprofit providing continued quality routine and specialized veterinary care to ALL retired Military and Law Enforcement K9s no matter the department, agency, or branch of service at no cost to the Handler who becomes financially responsible for them upon retirement. Through Paws of Honor’s Veterinary Affiliates continued medical care is provided to each retired K9 enrolled in our Veterinary Care Program.
