K9 Edy is a Belgian Malinois and born on April 17, 2016 and assigned to the Indio Station. K9 Edy trained and was certified on Sept. 12, 2017 at the Canine Training Center in Front Royal, Virginia. K9 Edy resides with his handler’s family and two other family dogs. K9 Edy loves to play with the family and other pets on his days off and especially loves to play fetch. K9 Edy’s most recent significant seizure alerted to a single cab truck that had approximately 220 lbs. of liquid meth within the fuel tank.

Working K9s perform a variety of occupations alongside their Handlers ensuring our public is safe from threats or danger, along with protecting our country domestically and abroad. They are typically classified as equipment with their medical needs NO longer funded once their service is completed. Often times they have accelerated health issues like hip dysplasia or PTSD as a result of their years in the field.

Paws of Honor is a nonprofit providing continued quality routine and specialized veterinary care to ALL retired Military and Law Enforcement K9s no matter the department, agency, or branch of service at no cost to the Handler who becomes financially responsible for them upon retirement. Through Paws of Honor’s Veterinary Affiliates continued medical care is provided to each retired K9 enrolled in our Veterinary Care Program.
