EEtte was born at Lackland Airforce Base in TSA’s Puppy Program. The Program developed a breeding program to enhance the genetics for superior detection canines. The “E” litter had 3 puppies that made it through training and entered TSA’s Canine Explosives Detection Team Program as Passenger Screening Canines. EEtte was named after Sadie Ette, a young executive that was killed on 9/11 in the collapse of Tower 2 of the Twin Towers. EEtte started out her career as one of the initial teams to start the EDC Program in Kansas City International Airport with Handler Jasmine Bourne. After a successful start in Explosives detection, the team transferred to Orlando International Airport. EEtte and Jasmine then transferred to St Louis Lambert International Airport, prior to Jasmine's acceptance into the FBI. At that time EEtte was retired and was adopted by TSA Handler Jeannie Carney and joined her littermate brother, EEbbers in the household. EEbbers continued working until 2022 and they are both now enjoying retirement together. EEtte supported the security procedures in all the airports she served as well as many special events including a Super Bowl, a National College Football Championship and others.

Working K9s perform a variety of occupations alongside their Handlers ensuring our public is safe from threats or danger, along with protecting our country domestically and abroad. They are typically classified as equipment with their medical needs NO longer funded once their service is completed. Often times they have accelerated health issues like hip dysplasia or PTSD as a result of their years in the field.

Paws of Honor is a nonprofit providing continued quality routine and specialized veterinary care to ALL retired Military and Law Enforcement K9s no matter the department, agency, or branch of service at no cost to the Handler who becomes financially responsible for them upon retirement. Through Paws of Honor’s Veterinary Affiliates continued medical care is provided to each retired K9 enrolled in our Veterinary Care Program.
