K9 Flex is a 4yr old German Shepherd from Flammersbach Germany. He is a dual purpose K9 and together we have attended patrol school, narcotics school and urban tracking. K9 Flex has many accomplishments during his career to include apprehension/surrender of numerous dangerous subjects, and has taken hundreds of pounds of narcotics off of the streets. One of K9 Flex’s more significant seizures included approximately 88lbs of methamphetamine along with 28lbs of fentanyl/cocaine mix. K9 Flex has a a major reputation in the area as we have assisted with approximately 10 outside agencies spanning over 4 counties. K9 Flex also enjoys his downtime with the family as he loves playing with children, other dogs and swimming in the river.
Working K9s perform a variety of occupations alongside their Handlers ensuring our public is safe from threats or danger, along with protecting our country domestically and abroad. They are typically classified as equipment with their medical needs NO longer funded once their service is completed. Often times they have accelerated health issues like hip dysplasia or PTSD as a result of their years in the field.
Paws of Honor is a nonprofit providing continued quality routine and specialized veterinary care to ALL retired Military and Law Enforcement K9s no matter the department, agency, or branch of service at no cost to the Handler who becomes financially responsible for them upon retirement. Through Paws of Honor’s Veterinary Affiliates continued medical care is provided to each retired K9 enrolled in our Veterinary Care Program.
