MWD iimpulse had been stationed at Fort Myer, VA belonging to the 947th MP Detachment for his career. He was deployed to Iraq with a previous handler. He has done several missions for the President and several other dignitaries, whether it was around Washington D.C., or surroundings areas for missions/sweeps. He is happy now to retire and be in a quiet home. He loves to sleep and go on daily walks to see other dogs. His favorite snacks are peanut butter, whip cream, and bacon.
Working K9s perform a variety of occupations alongside their Handlers ensuring our public is safe from threats or danger, along with protecting our country domestically and abroad. They are typically classified as equipment with their medical needs NO longer funded once their service is completed. Often times they have accelerated health issues like hip dysplasia or PTSD as a result of their years in the field.
Paws of Honor is a nonprofit providing continued quality routine and specialized veterinary care to ALL retired Military and Law Enforcement K9s no matter the department, agency, or branch of service at no cost to the Handler who becomes financially responsible for them upon retirement. Through Paws of Honor’s Veterinary Affiliates continued medical care is provided to each retired K9 enrolled in our Veterinary Care Program.
