Miro was a rockstar in the field! He worked at the San Ysidro Port of entry, Otay mesa port of entry, Otay Mesa cargo import facility and the Tecate Port of Entry. Now that he is retired,he enjoys the simple things in life including playing with his new best friend. My 6 year old son. They do everything together around the house. Miro enjoys walks around the neighborhood and simple games of tug o war and fetch.
Working K9s perform a variety of occupations alongside their Handlers ensuring our public is safe from threats or danger, along with protecting our country domestically and abroad. They are typically classified as equipment with their medical needs NO longer funded once their service is completed. Often times they have accelerated health issues like hip dysplasia or PTSD as a result of their years in the field.
Paws of Honor is a nonprofit providing continued quality routine and specialized veterinary care to ALL retired Military and Law Enforcement K9s no matter the department, agency, or branch of service at no cost to the Handler who becomes financially responsible for them upon retirement. Through Paws of Honor’s Veterinary Affiliates continued medical care is provided to each retired K9 enrolled in our Veterinary Care Program.
