K9 Quigley

K9 Ringo spent his career in Explosive Detection, starting in 2010 and retiring in 2017. Ringo did an honorable job protecting Americans in war zones accumulating 10 deployments by the time he retired. His nose helped find explosives in high stress and dangerous situations with the aid of his handler to ensure the safety of those who have families waiting for them back home.

K9 Ringo has earned his retirement and loves being with his family, playing with his miniature soccer ball and his stuffed lamb “Lamb Chop!”

Working K9s perform a variety of occupations alongside their Handlers ensuring our public is safe from threats or danger, along with protecting our country domestically and abroad. They are typically classified as equipment with their medical needs NO longer funded once their service is completed. Often times they have accelerated health issues like hip dysplasia or PTSD as a result of their years in the field.

Paws of Honor is a nonprofit providing continued quality routine and specialized veterinary care to ALL retired Military and Law Enforcement K9s no matter the department, agency, or branch of service at no cost to the Handler who becomes financially responsible for them upon retirement. Through Paws of Honor’s Veterinary Affiliates continued medical care is provided to each retired K9 enrolled in our Veterinary Care Program.

K9 Ringo is sponsored in memory of his coworker K9 Quigley. "The two working dogs began their careers together as Explosive Detection K9s in Nov 2010, certifying nationally with the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) to begin work for the Federal Government. K9 Quigley had a lengthy and honorable career traveling extensively around the globe protecting Americans on foreign ground. He spent a total of 642 days searching for explosives in Afghanistan and Iraq ensuring the safety of hundreds of lives on a daily basis. K9 Quigley also covered numerous domestic duties in America and was able to meet Former President George W. Bush during one such event he worked. K9 Quigley won countless awards including first place overall in the United States Police Canine Association (USPCA) Region 3 certification trials. It is an honor to keep K9 Quigley’s memory alive through veterinary care of one of his own. This is the perfect way to continue his legacy as he was a caretaker and protector above all else. Sincerely, Quigley's Family"
