K9 Scar is 7 years old and full of personality. K9 Scar was my first K9 and even took up vacations with Dad. We traveled to North Carolina and hiked several trails, etc. K9 Scar may have been assigned to Charlotte County, but was always being deployed in surrounding counties, received Case of the Quarter - USPCA two times. K9 Scar loves anything food related and sometimes food is the only way to get him to take his meds. K9 Scar loves anything toy related and will chase it until he cant run anymore.
Working K9s perform a variety of occupations alongside their Handlers ensuring our public is safe from threats or danger, along with protecting our country domestically and abroad. They are typically classified as equipment with their medical needs NO longer funded once their service is completed. Often times they have accelerated health issues like hip dysplasia or PTSD as a result of their years in the field.
Paws of Honor is a nonprofit providing continued quality routine and specialized veterinary care to ALL retired Military and Law Enforcement K9s no matter the department, agency, or branch of service at no cost to the Handler who becomes financially responsible for them upon retirement. Through Paws of Honor’s Veterinary Affiliates continued medical care is provided to each retired K9 enrolled in our Veterinary Care Program.
