Szultan was truly a hard working canine. He worked at two local airports (DFW &DAL). He also extended his paw print to different states for assistance. He has worked at FLL, IAH, XNA, MSP and most recently MSY. Szultan is a dog that wears his heart on his harness. He has a loving nature and a friendly personality. In his free time, he loves to go on walking trails, sun bathe and play fetch. Szultan has learned a lot during his time of service, but as his handler I have learned, and continue to learn so much from him.
Working K9s perform a variety of occupations alongside their Handlers ensuring our public is safe from threats or danger, along with protecting our country domestically and abroad. They are typically classified as equipment with their medical needs NO longer funded once their service is completed. Often times they have accelerated health issues like hip dysplasia or PTSD as a result of their years in the field.
Paws of Honor is a nonprofit providing continued quality routine and specialized veterinary care to ALL retired Military and Law Enforcement K9s no matter the department, agency, or branch of service at no cost to the Handler who becomes financially responsible for them upon retirement. Through Paws of Honor’s Veterinary Affiliates continued medical care is provided to each retired K9 enrolled in our Veterinary Care Program.
