K9 Tango partnered with his handler Rene Morales started their careers in JFK airport (NYC) and retired Feb 20, 2022 out of Newark Airport (NJ). K9 Tango though very active and productive was retired to his handler due to age. During his service K9 Tango attended and assisted in many events throughout the NY, NJ area. His favorite place being the Freedom Tower standing where the World Trade Center and now the 9/11 memorial stand. K9 Tango is happily enjoying retirement with his retired brother K9 IIken and his active brother K9 Jani.

Working K9s perform a variety of occupations alongside their Handlers ensuring our public is safe from threats or danger, along with protecting our country domestically and abroad. They are typically classified as equipment with their medical needs NO longer funded once their service is completed. Often times they have accelerated health issues like hip dysplasia or PTSD as a result of their years in the field.

Paws of Honor is a nonprofit providing continued quality routine and specialized veterinary care to ALL retired Military and Law Enforcement K9s no matter the department, agency, or branch of service at no cost to the Handler who becomes financially responsible for them upon retirement. Through Paws of Honor’s Veterinary Affiliates continued medical care is provided to each retired K9 enrolled in our Veterinary Care Program.
