Hi, I’m Mattie, the Piglite. I was designed by Thaddeus Jurczynski for the 2007 Pigs on Parade celebration. After our auction, I went home to live at a private residence in Normandy Park, right on the water. At night, I loved illuminating the outlines of all the different dwellers in the salt water: Whales, starfish, octopus – my new friends! More recently, I’ve been living not far from a golf course, and have become something of a landmark and destination. Everyone loves the home with the beautiful pig!
I love the work that the Pike Place Market Foundation does to uplift the entire Market neighborhood. Between the care offered at the Pike Place Medical Clinic, the home delivery programs run by the Pike Market Foodbank, and the incredible programs offered at the Market Commons where all you need to do to get help is open the door, this genuine care for the Market community just lights up my life!
