I was diagnosed with breast cancer December 2021. After a partial mastectomy and 4 weeks of radiation in 2022, I am now cancer free! Little pink houses of hope then selected my family and I to attend the Oak Island, NC retreat. I could never express how special that trip was or how I have made friendships with other survivors and Volunstars that I am sure will last a lifetime. This is my way to say thank you to little pink and hopefully give someone else like me the opportunity to attend one of these life changing retreats. Can’t wait to raise money for little Pink thorough Wigging it out for HOPE!

I love to give back to my community, and when asked to help with a Little Pink Houses of Hope retreat in the Grand Haven and Tri-Cities area I said absolutely! Then I was asked to help with 'Wigging Out For HOPE', and I said let's do it!! I'm always up for some fun! Why would I want to wear a pink wig out in public you ask? I'm doing this in memory of my sister-in-law Barb, and all the women I know battling breast cancer. I'm doing this for the men in these women's lives, their children, and extended family members. It gives me a lot of satisfaction to help volunteer, and raise money for this organization that does so much for breast cancer families. They just simply deserve this time with their families, and I want to give it to them. If you see me out and about give me a honk, and if you dare be seen with the lady in PINK... I would love to take a picture with you and me in my wig. I will be showing/selling homes in my wig so don't be alarmed. Everyone that donates will get their name put into a drawing for a Amazon gift card to be drawn at the end of February. If you have $1 or $5 dollars to donate, I will take it. Little Pink Houses of Hope will be grateful for any amount you can donate. Tell your friends! We appreciate you, and your support.

In 2015 I became aware of the Little Pink Retreat in Emerald Isle. A family member was going through treatment and I had known several women that had fought the fight. My first thought was this is great; a week's paid vacation! So I got involved. I attended the final dinner of the week and listened to the families talk about their experiences. I knew then this was so much more than a week's vacation. It was a week to not feel alone, a week to shed a few worries, a week to reconnect with family, a week to make new friends, a week to feel hopeful, a week to feel accepted, a week for family members to connect with others having a similar experience, a week of compassion, a week of love. I am so excited as always to support this amazing organization. ASK ME ABOUT LITTLE PINK!

I am a breast cancer survivor. I have been through the surgeries, the treatments of chemo and radiation, and I have watched friends and family go through the same thing. Cancer is an evil that can suck life from even the healthiest of people. I want to raise awareness and funds for others who have been through and are going through this same illness. My hope is that each person who struggles through breast cancer will remember how precious their life is, know they are loved, and remember that cancer does not define them.

This cause is close to my heart. In 2021 my daughter got selected to participate in the Pink Little Houses of Hope retreat. She has metastatic breast cancer. So we were delighted and excited that we could attend and we were not sure what to expect. The experience was terrific. We met others who were going through the same things as my family. Going to the retreat, the children were full of laughter, and families came together for each other. The people affected directly by cancer were able to make new friends and connections. We saw that we were not alone and others were in the same situation. What made this special was that people were willing to donate their time for a family like ours who has a week of not letting cancer bring us down. The volunteer gave selflessly; I want to raise money to allow new families to experience as we did, and I will do what I can to make it happen. I have to thank Little Pink Houses, the volunteers in front and the back end, and the people who donate the houses, so this is possible. God Bless them. Thank you for giving to this cause.

The 'c' word was something I never expected to hear. When I did, it took some time to even be able to say the word cancer. I am a breast cancer thriver and so grateful that my journey allowed me to become a grandma on the day I completed radiation. Having breast cancer taught me that cancer does not define me, I defined my journey. I'm committed to raising breast cancer awareness and the importance of supporting people through their cancer journey and when I heard about Little Pink Houses of Hope I was so impressed with what an incredible gift this is to those with breast cancer I wanted to be a part of this beautiful effort in some way. Going pink will hopefully make people think in a GENEROUS way!

I am honored to help support an environment where many special moments and experiences happen for each family at the week-long retreat. Regardless of your financial status, everyone deserves to have an opportunity to take part in a special bonding week and enjoy a retreat. My why is because I feel helpless that 1 in 8 women & men are diagnosed with breast cancer each year, including many close friends and family. Millions of people need care and support, Wigging out is so out of my comfort zone, however, there’s nothing comfortable about cancer for no one. Just one takeaway that has stuck with me since being a participant on a LPHOH retreat almost 10 years ago was “YOU'RE NEVER ALONE”. I want to be an example of HOPE and support to others.

In 2020, I was diagnosed a second time with breast cancer. I was completely shocked, lost and afraid. After being diagnosed in 2013 and being told I was cured; I thought that journey was over.Feeling lost, lonely, and completely frightened about what was to come; I decided to apply for Little Pink Houses of Hope. I knew there were alot of applicants and thought the odds were not in my favor to be selected. Lo and behold; I was wrong! I was invited to a seven day retreat with my family to Key West. Little Pink Houses of Hope left no stone unturned as it pertains to accommodations, food, entertainment, activities, respite, and connection with other survivors who I came to love and grow a friendship with. The best part was my family was able to participate as well. I want to pay it forward. Cancer does not discriminate. When I found a lump in my breast in July of 2021, it was the beginning of a journey I never dreamed I would have to take. I decided the best way to handle it was with a positive attitude and by doing lots of research. During this quest for information, I found a breast cancer resource page and that was my introduction to Little Pink Houses of Hope. I had a double mastectomy in October of 2021, but my breast cancer journey has been mild compared to other breast cancer patients and survivors I have met. My mission now is to help breast cancer patients navigate this journey. Little Pink Houses of Hope gave me and my husband a life-changing one week retreat, life-long friends, and volunteer opportunities with a foundation we truly believe in. I want to pay it forward and help other families have this amazing experience during a very frightening time in their lives! Please help me meet my fundraising goal and go from PINK hair back to RED! As most of you know, I lost my oldest sister Linda to breast cancer as well as a very close colleague and friend. Now..... a very dear friend of mind just had a double mastectomy. I have been volunteering for Little Pink for 11 years now. Every year that I do, brings on a new experience. I have met so many wonderful moms, husbands and their children. Many I still keep in touch with. I have also made friends with other volunteers over the years as well, as many of us return annually for the retreats. Little Pink gives families a free week long vacation and respite from their cancer treatments and everything else they are dealing with. I love seeing their smiles and the stress disappear as each day goes by. By the end of the week, I see a renewed energy and hope for not only mom but the entire family! Won't you please consider donating to my campaign! Thank you! Pam

My mom died from breast cancer in January of this year (2022). She spent her last and 50th birthday at a Little Pink Houses of Hope retreat in Sedona, AZ. My sister and I were able to spend a few of the days with her there, and the time we were able to relax and make memories will never be forgotten. My mom, Tracy "Gypsy" Beach, was an incredible woman and a fierce advocate for breast cancer research, programs, and support. Even in her final days, she was supporting other woman on a Facebook page- sharing resources, sending them care packages, and encouraging them on their journeys. She never stopped advocating for preventative care, donating money during October to organizations that actually support people, and truly living life. These retreats are exactly what she believes in: time with family, finding joy, focusing on love and life experiences, and prioritizing self-care. I will never, ever forget the wonderful experience Little Pink Houses of Hope gave to her during her last year and I want to continue her legacy by raising money for other families to experience the same.

I am supporting Little Pink Houses of Hope because of their mission of providing family retreats in beautiful locations for breast cancer survivors and fighters and their families. No one fights this disease alone - "co-survivors" are fighting as well - to keep up the spirits and strengths of their family members who have been personally touched by breast cancer. I know when I was fighting, my baby girl and my husband were right there, kissing my bald head, holding me and the trash can while I suffered through nausea, praying for me, telling me it would be okay, getting my meds together, helping me with my drains and just being there. It was a scary time. I felt like I saw an alien stranger when I looked in the mirror and wanted to get away from it all. Little Pink made that happen by gifting us with a retreat to the beaches of North Carolina where we were able to connect, participate in family and group activities such as yoga, date night out, etc. The kids connected as well doing paddle boarding and other fun activities. It gave me just enough rest to keep fighting and drew our family closer together. I want that experience for EVERY woman fighting this battle and her family. Raising money for this cause will help make that dream a reality.
