In 2015 following my husband having brain surgery and moving into a brand new house, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The next year was a whirlwind of appointments, tests, counseling, treatments, extreme side effects, and surgeries. I missed so much of my first and fifth graders school experiences. My husband stressed over losing the home we'd waited 18 years to get. And the Little Pink Houses of Hope came along. Our selection for a retreat to Key West FL was like fresh air breathed into our struggling bodies. From the excitement it brought my young kids to the chance for my husband to step back and relax for a week and a chance for me to connect with others in similar and worse shoes our retreat was an unbelievable pick me up for my family. Now I look forward to paying it forward to another family in need and helping this amazing organization.
My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019 when she turned 40. The events and emotions to follow are really nothing anyone can prepare you for. There were a number of different resources at our fingertips to help with financial planning, support groups, therapy, information, camps for kids, alternative treatment plans, but the last thing on our mind was how to take a family vacation. When my wife told me about Little Pink Houses of Hope and the vacation they were going to provide our family, I was overcome with what felt like a warm embrace of solace. We have an outstanding community of friends and family that have gone above and beyond throughout our battle with cancer. I truly believe that our friends and family are sincere when offering help with everything, but for me I could not help but feel guilty for accepting any money to use toward what seemed like wasteful spending. Little Pink Houses of Hope tackles a part of healing that often gets overlooked or is just out of reach for most. I can only assume that there are others that experience the same feelings I have felt, when offered help from their loved ones. I believe that with the support of Little Pink, more healing can happen, or more importantly, more positive moments can be shared with family. Little Pink gave us an opportunity to step away from the burden of appointments, treatments, bills, insurance, work, school, and stress. With that, I feel compelled to help however I can so that another family can experience the same healing experience we were offered.
Little Pink Houses of Hope approached me a few years ago seeking assistance in putting together a new regional retreat and after finding out what they do, and how they accomplish it, I just felt drawn to doing whatever I could to support this amazing organization. Everyone I've interacted with over the past few years of retreats has their whole heart and soul in providing an exceptional experience for these families who are going through one of the hardest times anyone can face. Cancer in all its horrible incarnations has touched nearly all of our lives, and Little Pink is such a breath of fresh air for these folks. Please join me in supporting their efforts in whatever way you can, if you can't donate (it doesn't need to be much, a little green goes a long way at Little Pink!) please share this with someone you think could or everyone you know! together we can keep these amazing people going strong. Thank you <3
This cause is close to my heart. In 2021 my daughter got selected to participate in the Pink Little Houses of Hope retreat. She has metastatic breast cancer. So we were delighted and excited that we could attend and we were not sure what to expect. The experience was terrific. We met others who were going through the same things as my family. Going to the retreat, the children were full of laughter, and families came together for each other. The people affected directly by cancer were able to make new friends and connections. We saw that we were not alone and others were in the same situation. What made this special was that people were willing to donate their time for a family like ours who has a week of not letting cancer bring us down. The volunteer gave selflessly; I want to raise money to allow new families to experience as we did, and I will do what I can to make it happen. I have to thank Little Pink Houses, the volunteers in front and the back end, and the people who donate the houses, so this is possible. God Bless them. Thank you for giving to this cause.
As a participant, I know exactly how it feels to receive the honor of a retreat. The love, acceptance and stress relief that comes throughout the week is much needed and appreciated. I want to give back to Little Pink by helping raise money for more participants to be able to say Yes!
Cancer never comes at a good time. Little pink houses of hope came for my family at the perfect time. We had all been through so much and to just relax and be ourselves again was a the biggest blessing! We made life long friends and stayed at a beach house we’d never be able to stay at otherwise! And everything was taken care of, everything! It was such a treat! I’d love to give back and WIG out over an organization that gave SO much to us! We still get birthday cards and hellos on Facebook. I’m choosing to wig out for hope to raise money for others trips, to raise awareness of the program, and to show my appreciation!
I have a great support network and they have never wavered in giving me strength, courage and commitment to relationships. I love my village!
My why is because I feel helpless that 1 in 8 women & men are diagnosed with breast cancer each year, including many close friends and family. Millions of people need care and support, Wigging out is so out of my comfort zone, however, there’s nothing comfortable about cancer for no one. Just one takeaway that has stuck with me since being a participant on a LPHOH retreat almost 10 years ago was “YOU'RE NEVER ALONE”. I want to be an example of HOPE and support to others.
Hello, Breast Cancer is familial in my family. All the women on my mom's side of the family have died from breast cancer, including my sister. My mother battled breast cancer simultaneously with my sister and watched my sister die from the disease. My mother lost her mother to the same disease. My mother has survived over 20 years with metastatic breast cancer that spread to most organs. Breast Cancer is a big part of our family.I have had some scares in the last few years. My family is blessed to be part of the Little pink Alumni. We were part of the Oak Island retreat in 2022 and it was a magical experience.
Anyone who knows me knows I love a good wig! I wore wigs for years before breast cancer forced me to face hair loss. Typically, I wear wigs to express myself, but this time I'm wearing a wig for a great cause! Back in September of 2022, me and my family attended a week long retreat hosted by Little Pink Houses of Hope. This retreat included a lovely donated vacation home for us to relax in, connecting with other families who've been affected by cancer, planned activities that represented the most popular things to do in the area, sweet surprises (like welcome gift bags with all sorts of goodies for every one in the family to enjoy), a photo session - and the cherry on top is that this was all free of charge and we were surrounded by a team of people who loved on us and made sure to document those precious moments I might otherwise be too busy photographing myself to be fully present in. Needless to say, Little PInk Houses of Hope was a unique and valuable experience for us, and just the escape we needed. I'd love to help other families experience the same. Little Pink Houses of Hope is kicking their care up a notch and adding the coverage of travel expenses! That means additional funding is needed. I will be rocking a curly pink wig until my goal is reached, help me make that happen!
One reason I am getting involved in wigging out is because I believe in the mission and vision of Little Pink Houses of Hope. So many people affected by cancer often feel alone and are overwhelmed by the diagnosis, medical bills, treatment regimens, and uncertainty. I saw this, to some extent, firsthand when my friend Dana Walker was diagnosed in 2018. Seeing even a glimpse of what she went thorough has motivated me to do all that I can to help take some of the weight off of a cancer fighter’s shoulders. Her fight inspires me daily to partner with organization like Little Pink houses of Hope, in effort to give families a place of refuge during a weeklong retreat to focus on making new memories and enjoying time together. I am fundraising because I know each retreat experience is life-changing for families and, too often, socioeconomic barriers stand in the way of these experiences for those who need them most. Thank you to Dana for inspiring me to do what I can for folks fighting a battle you know too well and thank you to Little Pink Houses of Hope for being an avenue through which to do that.
After finishing my breast cancer treatments in 2017, I looked for organizations that would help families like mine. I didn’t want the typical organization but something extra special. I found that with Little Pink House of Hope. While other organizations help with different aspects, LPHOH helps families make memories. MEMORIES!!! Something that will last a lifetime. In a season where the future is unknown for so many, LPHOH brings the whole family together. For one whole week, families are brought in from across the country for a FREE week long vacation. They host these vacations in 10 different states and have 21 retreat locations! All meals and activities are provided. They have even started covering travel costs! The most beautiful family photos are taken and cherished well beyond their vacation. Friends are made and become extended families. I am honored to volunteer my time with these amazing families and LPHOH. It is something I look forward to yearly. I would be honored if you would be willing to support my fundraising efforts.
Little Pink Houses of Hope is a phenomenal organization making a profound difference in the lives of breast cancer patients and their families. Our time on a Little Pink retreat was unforgettable and we want to support as many families as possible being able to attend.
I am excited to Wig Out for LPHOH. I am a 4 year breast cancer survivor. My family attended Oak Island, NC family retreat. It was the first family vacation we were not on the go 100% of the time. It was wonderful to enjoy the actives each day, but also having down time. It was the first time my daughters saw the ocean. We went to the beach everyday. At night my husband and I were able to sit on the front porch and listen to the waves roll in. I am a strong supporter of families enjoying time with each other. Our trip gave us time to reconnect with each other. Along with meeting other families going through the same thing. I am Wigging Out to support the survivors and Honor the ones we have lost and have Hoe for the future. This is an amazing organization who offers retreats for breast cancer families with locations all over the US. I love to show my support in a FUN - WIGGING OUT WAY!!! Now we need your support in donations!!

Little Pink Houses of Hope holds a very special place in my heart. My son and parents went with me to Myrtle Beach for a week because of Little Pink! That is where I met my lifelong pink sisters and are now part of the sisterhood of the traveling bracelet. This organization pampered us so much that week and let us live and not think of cancer all of the time.
As of May of 2020 I have been dealing with breast cancer. In the last 2 years I have had 5 surgeries, 5 weeks of radiation, and 4 chemo treatments. I am still currently on chemo treatment for the next 2 years.
LPHOH was the greatest earthly gift for my family. Little Pink provided my family a chance to rest, relax and renew with my family. Was able to connect with other women that were walking a similar path. My husband could connect with other husbands and my kids could be kids and not have to take a back seat because I was sick. LPHOH is like a pearl, precious and unique.
I’m a woman who didn’t give up on herself. I’ve fought to the end and will fight like a girl.
In 2020, I was able to take a (much needed!) trip with my family to Oak Island because of Little Pink Houses of Hope- after a double mastectomy with reconstruction, 5 months of Chemo and 26 Radiation treatments. I can't wait to help others have a chance to experience the blessing that is Little Pink Houses of Hope!
I am a proud mom of 3, a wife, the daughter of a breast cancer survivor nurse, an English & writing tutor, a freelance notary, a business administrator, and a blogger. The commitment to making a difference in the world and helping others do the same is what defines an incredible human being. Even though my brain is always working, I rarely have a moment of peace because I am constantly worried about my daughters and their well-being. One thing remains and that is the need of going the extra mile doing what others might seem like too much work but for me is the path to success and achievement.
Hello, LPHOH My name is Grace, I was diagnosed back in 2014. I am a single mother of 2 boys, they was 11 and 4 back then. I was told, U have 2 months! What exactly do you do with that information!!?? I thought I was dreaming. Once I walked out of that Doctor's Office, I was confused at what was just said. Do I tell my boys? Do I tell my mother and sister? Do I tell my job? Am I really going to have JUST 2 MONTHS?? There were so many questions. I decided not to tell anyone. I will keep this information to myself. That was that. I would get my kids up and get them ready for school then I would go to work, day after day like it was on repeat. I would only cry in my car coming back from work and then go home and cook dinner and get my kids settled down for the evening and cry when I'm in the bathroom once they are down for the night. I did this till the day of my surgery, that was the only time I let my boys know that, Mommy is going to have surgery today, I will be ok and we can go home after this, like it was something normal to say to your kids. After that, I had to try my best to get up and do what needed to be done as a mother. I literally was doing this and going thru this all alone, didnt have any support. So once I was in healing process, I noticed that my skin was opening up from the surgery, I know for a fact, that was not normal. When I called the DR, I was told thats normal to wait a few days to heal and that's that. I did just that, but it was getting worse, So I had to be admitted to redo the surgery due to "Their" mistake. Unnecessary surgery, that could've been prevented. Life had to continue on, I have 2 boys, responsibilities. It has been 9 years going strong!
Without question cancer changes you and your family. Through my cancer journey I have developed a strong network of those who supported me and those I have supported through their cancer journey. I only have one cancer group I actively support and that is Little Pink. I have been very positively touched and been blessed to be a Volunstar and help touch others with Pink Sister love and support.

I am a stage IV breast cancer survivor! I was diagnosed stage IV from the get-go in 2011 and have been in continuous treatment ever since. In those last 11 years I've gone through alot of personal tragedy as well, losing both parents and a marriage. Little Pink Houses of Hope sent me and my adult daughters on a retreat in 2021 and it was the best time we've had in a long time. It was so wonderful to get away from cancer for a week and reconnect with my girls. I will be forever grateful and want to help pay it forward. This is such a wonderful program!
I was blessed with a trip from little pink after being diagnosed at only 33 years old with triple negative breast cancer. I’m a mom of 5 boys ages 16-3. My dad passed from cancer at age 33 in 1989 when I was 2 years old. I’m passionate about raising awareness and bringing attention to breast cancer.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 33. I was a single mother of 3 beautiful kids. After my treatment and some surgeries we had the opportunity to be a part of a retreat. It was the best week of my life.
As a survivor, I believe it is important to spread awareness and knowledge of organizations like Little Pink for people to feel connected and empowered! I am honored to help support an environment where many special moments and experiences happen for each family at the week-long retreat. Regardless of your financial status, everyone deserves to have an opportunity to take part in a special bonding week and enjoy a retreat. I look forward to help host activities in the annual Arizona retreat and hope you will join me in helping support this amazing week with monetary, resource, or volunteer contributions.
