We invite you to go a little Crazy as a Little Pink Ambassador! It's time to dress up and have a little fun! In February of 2023, Little Pink will hold its first "Wigging Out" event. Little Pink provides free week-long retreats for breast cancer patients and their families from across the United States and Canada. Each year, Little Pink conducts 22 retreats serving hundreds of families. By providing lodging, meals, activities and support, we create an environment where families can truly have a break from doctor appointments, treatment, and the financial burden incurred on the cancer journey. Feb. 1-13, 2023: From February 1-13, 2023, you agree to become an ambassador of Little Pink and wear a Pink Wig until your fundraising goal is met. $1,500: We will create an easy to use fundraising page with text to donate capability so that it is easy to reach your goal. Minimum of $1,500. Ambassador kit: You will receive a kit in the mail that contains: Pink Wig to rock! A cancer diagnosis turns your world upside down emotionally, physically and financially. I know first hand the feeling of being overwhelmed, or being angry, or having fear and/or worry. But not only did cancer effect me, it placed heartache on all my loved ones and friends, especially my children. Their smiles were broken. It wasn't until the spring of 2016 when their smiles resurfaced. My family was introduced to Little Pink Houses of Hope. LPHOH provided our family with an amazing week in Cape Hatteras with activities, free time, food and great conversations but more importantly the opportunity to relax, reconnect and rejuvenate within our family. It's now my turn to give back and love on families as LPHOH dis for our family. Since 2016, I have VolunStarred for multiple retreats. 2018-Orange Beach, AL 2019-Emerald Isle, NC 2022-Myrtle Beach, SC I also participated in HOPE Collection, collection of private donations for LPHOH and conduct intake calls and send birthday wishes to Little Pink families. About 1 in every 8 women will develop breast camcer over the course of her lifetime. With these statistics, I am certain that you know an acquaintance or a loved one that has been diagnosed with this awful disease. I know I can't help every women diagnosed however LPHOH and I strive to provide HOPE for breast cancer patients and their families.

Little Pink the 8 of us on a vacation in the middle of a time in our lives that nothing seemed to be working out. It was truly a chance to rest, connect and focus on each other. We still talk it fondly, it’s one of our family’s favorite memories!

YOU are my WHY! Unfortunately I think it is almost impossible to find someone that has not been touched by breast cancer. Whether it is you personally, a family member, a friend, a co-worker, your neighbor, your favorite cashier at your local grocery store or the stranger you struck up a conversation on any given day.My Mother, Aunt, Cousin and many friends are survivors, my beautiful sister in law lost her battle in 2021....Betty Jo, my brother, nephews, niece, family and friends are my personal WHY.This past year I volunteered on a Little Pink retreat in Sedona, I met 8 amazing strong woman and their unbelievable families- I knew that was just the beginning of my Little Pink journey.I am so excited to be part of this wonderful organization, to step into my new role as a retreat coordinator and to have the ability to help create lasting memories.I look forward to helping raise awareness and to step out of my comfort zone and to WIG OUT!!!

I am excited to raise money for a cause that is my whole world! As a breast cancer survivor, I look forward to serving others and know that the money raised will be used to directly support cancer patients.

I am excited to Wig Out for LPHOH. I am a 4 year breast cancer survivor. My family attended Oak Island, NC family retreat. It was the first family vacation we were not on the go 100% of the time. It was wonderful to enjoy the actives each day, but also having down time. It was the first time my daughters saw the ocean. We went to the beach everyday. At night my husband and I were able to sit on the front porch and listen to the waves roll in. I am a strong supporter of families enjoying time with each other. Our trip gave us time to reconnect with each other. Along with meeting other families going through the same thing. I am Wigging Out to support the survivors and Honor the ones we have lost and have Hoe for the future. This is an amazing organization who offers retreats for breast cancer families with locations all over the US. I love to show my support in a FUN - WIGGING OUT WAY!!! Now we need your support in donations!!

If you have a few moments I’d like to share why Little pink will always and forever be my favorite nonprofit. This is my why, my story… Diagnosed at age 33. After the craziness of COVID and my first experience with breast cancer (my mother in law) the last thing I expected was the call. Tonya you have Breast Cancer, I pretty sure all I said was a nasty 4 letter word. I remember it like it was yesterday, my husband and I run a shop together, his cousin stopped by to say hello. My husband says love ya cousin but we have to go Tonya has a doctors appointment. It shattered my heart to tell him, honey we do not need to go to the doctors, they called. Previously to COVID I had not heard of anyone getting a cancer diagnosis over the phone. I could see the anticipation and slight excitement on his face as he must have thought, if the appointment is canceled it must not be cancer. Right there mid-day, I had to break his heart. The next steps are a blur there were a whole lot of appointments, schedules, tests to prepare for treatments. The weeks leading up to treatments were the worst. 16 rounds of chemotherapy and a DMX later I felt broken and shattered. I found Little pink houses of hope, through some bored internet searching while on months and months of chemotherapy. A free trip for me and my family just because I have cancer?? No way it cannot be true, it must be a scam, what do they want, it is a timeshare? Nope none of the above, they truly just want to help families reconnect during their time of need. They have 20 + retreat destinations and each location they try to accommodate 8-10 families. That’s a lot of people impacted by the kindness of this one organization each year. The week long trip Little pink provided my family and was a blessing. I had no idea the importance of that trip, the beautiful people I would met during this experience and I will forever be grateful to Little Pink. Please consider helping me raise some money to give back to them. My goal is $1500 that is the average cost little pink pays per family.

One reason I am getting involved in wigging out is because I believe in the mission and vision of Little Pink Houses of Hope. So many people affected by cancer often feel alone and are overwhelmed by the diagnosis, medical bills, treatment regimens, and uncertainty. I saw this, to some extent, firsthand when my friend Dana Walker was diagnosed in 2018. Seeing even a glimpse of what she went thorough has motivated me to do all that I can to help take some of the weight off of a cancer fighter’s shoulders. Her fight inspires me daily to partner with organization like Little Pink houses of Hope, in effort to give families a place of refuge during a weeklong retreat to focus on making new memories and enjoying time together. I am fundraising because I know each retreat experience is life-changing for families and, too often, socioeconomic barriers stand in the way of these experiences for those who need them most. Thank you to Dana for inspiring me to do what I can for folks fighting a battle you know too well and thank you to Little Pink Houses of Hope for being an avenue through which to do that.

I support Little Pink Houses of Hope in honor of and tribute to my sister Mary who battled this disease for a dozen years of her life, yet she remained positive and focused on the good parts of her life. She was always compassionate to others and even though she had her challenges, she was always concerned about others who had it tougher. She handled her journey with the most positivity and dignity, and I could only wish that if I were faced with what she was faced with, I could be as gracious. Her faith was strong and carried her through. Little Pink gave Mary a week of joy and introduced her to new sisters in the battle that became her friends. I can never repay enough for the memories of her smile during the retreat week so this Wig Out is a small token toward giving back to ensure other families can have a Little Pink experience.
