Bbucca

Bbucca(T085) was born on 10/21/2010 in the TSA Puppy Program at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio Texas. She was named after fallen NYFD Fire Marshall Ronald Bucca from the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on 09/11/2001. Bbucca’ s first station was Seattle International Airport where she helped keep the airport safe by screening air cargo, assisted US Secret Service with their missions, along with USCG, CBP and local law enforcement in the Seattle area. Bbucca then finished her service at the Orlando International Airport working at the checkpoint conducting passenger screening in 2019. She is now living a peaceful retirement in Florida soaking up the sun. Working K9s perform a variety of occupations alongside their Handlers ensuring our public is safe from threats or danger, along with protecting our country domestically and abroad. Often times they have accelerated health issues like hip dysplasia or PTSD as a result of their years in the field. Paws of Honor is a nonprofit providing continued quality routine and specialized veterinary care to ALL retired Military and Law Enforcement K9s no matter the department, agency, or branch of service at no cost to the Handler who becomes financially responsible for them upon retirement. K9 Beau served the citizens of Harrisburg City, (PA) as a duel purpose K9 from 2013-2022. He worked on the midnight shift, then worked on the Street Crimes Unit. A fierce warrior on the street and (almost) a normal family dog while off-duty. Beau had several apprehensions and assisted in keeping the streets of Harrisburg safe. Now that he is retired, Beau spends his days on his dog bed waiting for Dad to get home. He has a younger brother,Neko- that keeps him young at heart. He lives for treats- he loves green beans and sweet potatoes. When he is awake, he enjoys chewing on antlers or a Nylabone. Brandy was assigned to her handler, Brian M., who had just retired his first K9 named Bradley. Brandy was stubborn and young, the perfect combination for a great EDC dog. She learned slowly, but became a great working dog because of her stubbornness and drive for food. Brandy retired early from service in 2018 because of ulcers in her stomach that could not be controlled without ending her working career. Brandy traveled on multiple deployments to war zones and loved to work. Her retirement was necessary for her health, and has kept her alive to be a great pet for her family. Brandy still loves food to this day and eats her breakfast and dinner like a world class eating champion. Brandy lives in Centreville, Virginia with her handler Brian and his family. She loves to play with Brian's kids, Katelyn and Jacob, and to sun herself on the back deck. These days, Brandy can be found lurking around the dinner table for scraps, pushing her head into your arm for a scratch, or just relaxing on her bed. Paws of Honor is a nonprofit providing continued quality routine and specialized veterinary care to ALL retired Military and Law Enforcement K9s no matter the department, agency, or branch of service at no cost to the Handler who becomes financially responsible for them upon retirement. Through Paws of Honor’s Veterinary Affiliates continued medical care is provided to each retired K9 enrolled in our Veterinary Care Program. Working K9s perform a variety of occupations alongside their Handlers ensuring our public is safe from threats or danger, along with protecting our country domestically and abroad. They are typically classified as equipment with their medical needs NO longer funded once their service is completed. Often times they have accelerated health issues like hip dysplasia or PTSD as a result of their years in the field. K9 Brandy is sponsored by Pet Wants located in Chantilly, Virginia. " Brutus is one of the most fun-loving canines I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Everyone swears he is part human and understands everything you tell him. He has an extensive travel history as he was allowed to go with me while I was in Georgia for the military. That was a 6-month trip that took him to just about every state in on the east coast. He has traveled via commercial aircraft as well as military. He is the kind of dog that puts a smile on everyone’s face and eats your whole lunch if you let him. He has an extensive narcotic seizure history during his time as a working canine valued in the millions of dollars. No doubt he has saved lives by using his nose for the good. His favorite activities now include floating on a raft in the pool, hunting field mice and sunbathing on warm days. While popcorn is his all-time favorite, he is a lab and will not turn down any treat. He has brought me more joy than I could ever put into words!"
